ONE Devo Day 33 - November 29

Let’s read Psalm 107 once again, focusing on Vs. 31 – 43. Repetition leads us to ‘think through Psalm 107 & also to ‘thank through the goodness of God.’

Using the H.E.A.R. method, what words or phrases are highlighted to you? How would you explain this to a friend? What application can you make to your life? What heart response can you have to God at the point of His Word?

Write your response down to cultivate the habit of ‘journaling with God.’

Let’s ZOOM into Vs 33 & 35.
“The LORD turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground…”
“He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs”

Do you notice the reversal? God turns ‘deserts’ into ‘pools of water.’

It's important to remember that God has the power to transform barren deserts into flourishing rivers, and vice versa. As we can see in Psalms 107, God withdraws His blessings from places where evil persists. God took away the cattle, water, and fruits of the land when the inhabitants were not pleasing Him.

God created this world for us to live in harmony with Him, and He rewards those who stay close to His heart.

PAUSE & PRAY – Ask the Spirit of God to reveal any areas of your life that may not be pleasing to Him; turn from any sinful areas; ask Him to remove them, so you receive His blessings fully.

“Holy Spirit, search my heart and know me. Show me any area of my life that does not please you. As you reveal (name the area) __________________________________, I confess this is sin; I ask You to wash me in the blood of Your Son. Restore to me the rivers of joy in my relationship with You, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
