Hope has a Name Devo Day 25 - December 24

Let’s join our hearts in prayer for the Christmas Eve services at 4 & 5: 30 p.m. SBC; pray for the Gospel to be embraced in many hearts. Be aware of special opportunities in the plaza area before & after the services for hot cocoa & photos.

Let’s prayerfully read & reflect on the Gospel of Luke chapter 2, verses 39 – 52, giving special attention to verses 41 – 50.

  • V. 41 – What was annual the family tradition of Joseph and Mary? ________________ (It’s good to have family traditions like Christmas Eve worship.)
  • V.42 – Imagine Jesus at 12 years of age; He was tempted but without sin (Hebrews 4: 14 – 16)
  • Vs. 43 – 45 – What problem did Joseph and Mary experience when they were returning from Jerusalem? __________________________________________.
  • V. 46 – 48 – Where did Joseph & Mary finally locate Jesus? _______________________________________

LET’S ZOOM INTO Jesus’ response to Mary’s question – “Why have you treated us like this? We have been anxiously searching for you?”
V.49 – Jesus said to Mary - Why were you looking for me? Didn’t you know that I had to be here, dealing with the things of my Father?”

PRAYER PROMPT – “Lord Jesus, I want to know and live like You. You were continually doing what pleases the Father’s heart. May I become more like you by a yielded heart to the Father’s will? I sense the Father is calling me to ___________________________________, May I be focused on the activities of the Father, for I pray in Your name, Amen!”
