Let’s continue to reflect on worship to the Lord, for His “name will be great among the nations, from the rising of the sun to its setting.” (from Malachi 1:11) by prayerfully reading Jesus’ words in the Gospel of John chapter 4.
Let’s zero in on Vs.23–24 – “But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in Spirit and in truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in Spirit and in truth.”
Jesus states - “Now is the time for worship.” In light of His sacrifice that allows us to enter the very Presence of God!
What are the characteristics of ‘true worshippers’? “Worship the Father in ______ and in ___________.”
Let’s pray to be doers of the Word as we gather for worship each Lord’s day at SBC. The Father WANTS SUCH PEOPLE TO WORSHIP – i.e. – He is longing and looking for us each day to show up in His presence with a joyful and grateful heart.
PRAYER PROMPT: Abba Father, as I consider You are searching for true worshippers, I raise my heart to say, “Here am I, Lord!” Create in me a clean heart centered on You and not on my personal preferences. Center my life on Your Word; empower me by Your Spirit to glorify Your great name. I desire to please You alone in my songs, atttitudes and prayers, for I humbly pray in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
