Yesterday’s sermon was “Now is the Time to Refocus;” this is a needed call of action as
we begin the new year. The Lord says in Malachi 2: 1 – “If you don’t listen and if you
don’t take it to heart to honor my Name, I will send a curse among you and I will curse
your blessings…” Let’s prayerfully read and reflect on Acts chapter 12 about King
Herod Agrippa who failed to give God the glory.
Let’s ZERO INTO Vs. 21 – 23 – Herod accepted praise from the people instead of
giving glory to God; he is struck down by an angel and eaten by worms. Why? Because
He was taking credit for the miracle instead of attributing glory to God.
When blessings come into our lives, we can be ‘glory givers’ or ‘glory stealers.’ A ‘glory
giver’ is the humble response of giving God the glory as the “Giver of every good and
perfect gift” (James 1: 17); a ‘glory taker’ is when we pridefully think it is by our abilities
or skills that we deserve certain blessings or privileges.
PAUSE & PRAY in a place where you can speak out loud; make your prayer place a joy
where you can express praise to God, giving Him all the glory for the many gracious
works in your life.
“Heavenly Father, I am standing on holy ground – shouting ground – for I desire to
humbly bow down and give You glory for the following blessings You have given to me
by Your grace in Jesus Christ:_________________________________________

Lord, I could be here all day for all You have done for me, for I pray in Jesus’ name,
amen!”
