Now Is The Time Devotional - January 17

Let’s read the Gospel of Matthew chapter 22. What highlights stand out to you? In what ways are you challenged to ‘live His Word’ in your traffic patterns?

Let’s ZERO INTO Vs. 35–40 -   And one of them, an expert in the law, asked a question
to test him: 36  “Teacher, which command in the law is the greatest?”
37  He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul,
and with all your mind. , 38  This is the greatest and most important command. 39  The
second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. , 40  All the Law and the Prophets
depend on these two commands.”

 What is the Great Commandment? Loving __________ & Loving ____________.
 The focus of the year before us is to be deepening our love for the Lord and
deepening our love for our near ones.
 V. 40 “on these two commands _______ all the law and the prophets” – i.e this is
the way Jesus wants us to read & interpret Scripture.

PRAYER PROMPT: “Abba Father, I yield my heart to obey Your Great Commandment.
With my heart, I want to love you by ___________________________ (listening, being
thankful in all things, by yeildedness). May Your Spirit empower me to love my near
ones well, especially ___________________ (name). May the focus of this new year of
2025 be to deepen my love for you and the ones near me, for I humbly pray in Jesus’
name, Amen.”
