Will You Step Into the Water?
Read: Matthew 10:32–33; Romans 6:4; Revelation 21:1–5
Key Verse: Romans 6:4 – “We were buried with Him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too may walk in newness of life.”
Devotional Thought:
Today, we conclude our sermon series on Heaven with a call to respond — not just in belief, but in boldness. If heaven is your home and Jesus is your Lord, why not publicly identify with Him through baptism?
You’re invited to join us this evening at 5:00 p.m. for Beach Baptism at Siesta Key Beach (Yellow Lifeguard Stand). If you’ve never been baptized since placing your faith in Jesus, this is your opportunity to step forward. Just as baptism symbolizes Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, it also declares your personal decision to follow Him. Everyone is encouraged to come out around 4 p.m. to locate a parking spot in the public parking area.
And if you’ve already been baptized, come and celebrate with your church family! Let’s surround those being baptized with joy, support, and praise, together reflecting the beauty of heaven on the shores of Sarasota.
Inductive Questions:
• Why does Jesus call us to publicly confess our faith?
• What does your baptism mean to you, and how can you encourage someone else in theirs?
• Who might you invite to witness or celebrate the baptisms tonight?
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for giving us the promise of heaven and the gift of new life. Whether I’m preparing to be baptized or remembering my own, may today be a day of boldness and joy. Let our celebration this evening echo the joy of heaven. I pray humbly in Jesus’ name, Amen.
